DIY Wall Art

In my attempt to revamp my living room décor I decided to change the wall art that I have.  I took an old painting that I had that I didn't care for, painted it white, did a second coat in the center, used some spray paint I had on hand and sprayed a sun.  Then I went to hobby lobby and got these neat little wall decals, birds on a wire, for only $10.  I tweaked the wire to make it look like branches.  Here is what I got!! I'm pretty excited about it.  It was so easy and fun to do!! And Cheap.  My husband is telling me all the time that I keep around too much junk...but there are times like today that it comes in handy.

And She Will Be Called...

 

So we finally decided on a name for this little wonder growing inside me.  I was also able to finish the personalized wall art for her. I of course came across this idea while pinning.  Here are some pictures of the project.



 

 

First, you can see that all I did was find vintage wall paper patterns online and made heart cut outs from them.  I used a thick linen grade paper, which made the patterns come out really great and detailed.

I found this frame at the thrift store, it was perfect. 

 

I glued the hearts down on a white background I just painted.  Then I sprayed it with some top coat to seal it.

 

Here is the heart I designated for our baby 3's name.  As you can tell this project sat undone for some time because Michael and I were not wholly sold on a name.

Hanging in the nursery, finished with name, I tediously cut out the name using an exacto knife and tiny scissors from Word, the font was like 95, of course in the style of french script. A fairly easy project and not expensive, this will add the perfect touch to her nursery...

And she will be called.....

A Letter, a Little Late, For My Lovely

 

 

I finally got around to making Bella's personalized letter, a project that I should have had done almost 2 years ago.  Like her baby pictures, it was just one of those things that got pushed down the the to-do list.  My next project is to get her pictures in an album....  Well here it is, proudly I hang this in her and Lizzie's room.  With each child, I am trying to do some personalized name art/wall hanging.  I have completed baby #3's but am waiting on my hubby to confirm our name.  He keeps vetoing ideas I put before him!!

A Small Sort of Accomplishment

So I finally got inspired to start doing some new bows for the girls...I had this grand goal of getting about five or six done...LOL! I ended up only getting one done.  Bella is teething so all she's been doing is crying all day...so I at least thought this was fun...not too shabby for a first timer...they are so easy and so much fun.
